Caution: Flying Diapers

We have a dog that can catch food in mid-air. It highly amused me, when I first started dating Dave, to throw cashews at his dog rapid-fire, and have the dog not miss a one.

Now that he's getting older, he's not quite as good at catching as he used to be, but he still manages to catch most things, and he's always very careful to find and eat what he misses.

xzrraza (THIS ASIDE BROUGHT TO YOU BY AIDAN. Oops. Caps lock brought to you by Aidan as well.)

Now. Where were we? Oh, yes. The dog. He catches food.

Today I was tossing popcorn at him, and Aidan wanted in on the action. So I was letting him reach in the bowl and he was throwing entire handfuls in the dog's direction. The dog, as you might imagine, was in heaven.

Then, Aidan got an idea. If the dog likes catching popcorn, he reasoned in his not-quite-2-year-old way, I bet he'd like catching a dirty diaper. And so off he trotted to "rescue" Dylan's diaper from this morning.

Needless to say, the dog was taken aback to have a diaper hurled at his head (no he didn't try to catch it.) I was startled as well, and before I could stop him, Aidan's logic led him to "share" with the doggie his own favorite toy, a Fisher Price radio.

Poor Buddy retreated to the other room under this onslaught, and I had to try to explain to Aidan that we don't throw things in the house. At all. Not even food.

So for now, Buddy's days as a trick dog are over, at least until the children can learn there are times for throwing food, and times it is completely inappropriate.

To say nothing of radios and diapers.

LOLOL! Oh poor poor Buddy!
Belle is great at catching things too, unfortunately in this family if someone tosses something to her from the table it usually leads to *everyone* tossing things to her... at once..
You can just imagine.
