He's 4

Ethan's birthday was on Sunday, and we had a low-key affair next door at the park for a few friends of ours from church. Dave's mom was also able to make it here, so it was wonderful to have family here as well.

We did a Curious George theme, which would NOT have been possible without Gail's trip to a Party City in Denver to get the party supplies cheaper than I saw them anywhere else (the closest Party City to us is about 60 miles away). Thank you Gail, a million trillion times!

Ethan LOVED his party - he loved playing at the park with his friends all afternoon, he loved the cake (banana, of course. Can't have a monkey theme without a cake that a monkey would love), and he especially loved opening presents. He stopped midway through and announced loudly, "I. Am having. So! Much! Fun!"

One of the couples from church even stayed late at our house and shared dinner with us, since the male half of the couple was engrossed in the football game right along with Dave. Their boy, who is 3, played beautifully with Ethan, and everyone had a wonderful time.

In the end, Ethan was so keyed up and excited, he couldn't fall asleep until several hours past his bedtime.

Happy birthday to my oldest baby. The only thing I wanted was for you to have a good time at your party, and you made all the planning and stress 100% worth it and then some. I'm thrilled that you had "So! Much! Fun!"

I love you.
